Looks like a really fun game, but there are quite some ripoffs in here: The title screen is carbon copied from Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania, the Gems -as you pointed out already- look quite a lot like Chaos Emeralds and the first boss is an Ersatz of Kirby´s Whispy Woods, with apples and whatnot.
