I sure wish I knew how you and nick40nick40 have been able to keep Earth Opera music videos up without them being blocked (by WMG).

I created a video of "Home Of The Brave" (from the 1968 album, "Earth Opera"), but it is blocked worldwide. Maybe if I created it from the LP instead of the digital/CD, it would lack any of the metadata that gets automatically ID'd.

Earth Opera was a GREAT early vehicle for the talented -- and yes, legendary -- Peter Rowan. He is a national treasure that more people should know about.

Thank you for posting this. I enjoyed reading the other 33 comments!

I owned both of their albums when they were first released as LPs (1968 & 1969). Now I own them in CD format, as well.

  • 1966 Steve Paul's The Scene, I brought my Gibson J-50 in there and Rowan tuned it for me in that noisy club and he's a pro! Always loved this band, great stuff!!!

  • I 1st heard this song as a teenager in Dallas Texas over then "underground" FM radio station K-NUS ("K-Noose").

Bought the album the very next day.

One of the best songs of Peter Rowan's entire career.

I love Earth Opera's 1st lp as well.

    Good stuff.

    Thanks for posting!

  • thanks capt. soul for posting this fine, fine band. Wish I could find the Red Sox are Winning. Thanks to Alan for turning me on them way back in the 60's, early 70's. Great music.

  • @thereyff I was their manager/road manager/engineer..I booked that date in Miami.

  • I'm sixty and bought this album in 1969, a very great piece of work. real powerful statement about those exciting times. nothing comes close.

  • I have this album somewhere- "And call out the border guards, the kingdom is crumbling"
