I am a doctoral student in choral conducting. I usually conduct choirs, so this was a lesson on conducting orchestras. Obviously, I am not as talented as many professional orchestral conductors.
This orchestra is very young, many of the top players were playing in chamber groups this day, and this is their first runthrough.

Instead of trying to clear up any the several missed entrances, intonation problems, and wrong notes, I decided to take them from Letter C to the end to get a feel for the first movement.

I love this movement and it was interesting to see a rehearsal of it. Thanks. Is the choral part recorded, or are there singers off camera somewhere?

David is correct. This was the first reading of a very difficult movement (for the orchestra, the choir was OVER-rehearsed, which leads to a whole different set of problems...) It would have been interesting to conduct a live orchestra with a recorded choir, though...
