@mwisz really makes me want to get rid of my shotguns. so did the mag tube blow? im just trying to understand how anything but a chambered round could go off -- kinda scary

What make and model was the 12 gauge? what was its age?

wow man. I have a buddy who had a small bit of dynamite blow up in his hand (apparently he thought it was an m80) Anyway, the aftermath of his doesnt look as bad as yours. I really feel for you. Stay Strong Man.

I'm very sorry of what happen to you(and I know I'm going to hell), but the first thing I thought when you said ''I lost my middle finger and my ring finger'' was: Rock n' Roll!

Dude, seems you are doing o.k. and sure hope you are. Have a friend that had this happen to him but with a pistol. They used his toes to make fingers. Freaky looking but science is cool. Hope you figure out the harness and give your wrist some relief. I build and design for people with disabilities but am at a loss as to what you should do.
Best wishes! To see one of my products look up the name redshirtdiaries here on youtube. I think you might find it cool.. Wouldn't help ya' tho
man be glad you survived and didn't bleed out
how much blood did you lose?

@danny675rider I ended up nearly bleeding out, and after surgery began, I had two infusions...

Is that your trigger (shooting) hand? Trying to understand how that injury occurred. I mean damn...what type of shotgun? What type of ammo? Think I'd like to stay away from those... Anytime there is some permanent life long injury to our bodies there is some sort of trauma mentally and emotionally initially. I pray you find it easy to overcome any/all obstacles during and after your recovery. God bless...

lol...thanks for the questions...it was my non-trigger hand, but my hand was around the barrel when the gun went off. As far as I know the only malfunction could be answered by human error. It seems I had over loaded the magazine and a shell had spiked itself on the end cap. I'm finally back from my last surgery and will post an update this week...

oh man i am sorry that sucks. was it a gun failure or accidental shooting?

a little of both, lol....of course I blame the gun but without the human error factor I'd have a hand.
