LOCATION:KORONADAL CITY, DEEP IN THE JUNGLE OF MINDANAO. The case is a 21 year old female, with Cholelithiases or Gall Bladder stones(Gall stones) with jaundice or yellow discoloration of the skin and sclerae. General Anesthesia is preferred when the patient is already manifesting obstruction to the flow of yellow fluid or bile. We have to address the obstruction or get rid of the stones&to prevent sepsis or blood poisoning,as in Ascending cholangitis, the Open surgery is the better choice to have best ocular and manipulative measures over the surgical fields. We have still medical myth being practiced around here by the local folks in the Philippines,People are trying to substitute anything to remedy or just to alleviate their illnesses. Proper medical consultations always comes last or the last treatment of choice, and this usually have catastrophic results. INNOCENSE EXCUSES NO ONE!
To avoid complications due to needle punctures and blood abnormalities brought about by the bile spillage to the blood due to obstruction, Regional blocks are not recommended for this type of extensive surgery especially when exploration of the common bile ducts(CBD) is contemplated.
