I think we are all used to Jay's version. However, to me Gene knocks him out of the ballpark.

@msymsed I used to think Jay's version was the best too. Then I hear David Whitfield & the Mantovani Orchestra do it ... AWESOME. Also an extra verse in his version.

I think he did a great job on this song...yes, Jay Black was the best on the song but Gene's version is very good. Jay could get a little overwrought.

Never ever have I heard Gene Pitney sing this song this fast.The time is a full minute too fast. I agree that Jay Black owns "Cara Mia" but Gene owns a few too.
