She's lying. The 8 hour work day, etc. etc. are a result of an increase in our overall standard of living and the competition for labor. Since our standard of living is now dropping we will have to work harder to keep even. Organized labor is simply a special interest group.

Labor day is after school starts for most people and I worked on labor day, so...

@humantestdummy Okay, fine. In that case, let me restate my above comment:
Sometime in the coming decades we'll see a new robot workers movement.
There ya go. Is that better? lol :D

@MarmaladeINFP robots will take our jobs in the future.

Um, yeah there are a hell of a lot of problems and corruption in unions today in America, same goes for corporations.
The best way to solve union and corporate issues is to instill actual worker's rights laws and affordable benefits for the average worker.

I am very glad that the unions are losing power, we can see that in the auto and teaching industry unions are making it impossible for workers wo dont do thier jobs to be fired. Thus the quality of service in those industries is suffering.

This isn't surprising. Worker unions have been losing their membership and their power for more than a half century. Also, corporations have become transnational, but unions for the most part haven't. Sometime in the coming decades we'll see a new workers movement. Until then, the exploitation will just get worse and wealth disparity will continue to increase.
