Oh, God. Hot Dog just made me tear up.

I was nine years old when this song came out. Around the same time, I saw my first crush on the swings with another boy from school. Boy, this song hit home at the time. Not the last time my heart was broken, but you're never ready for it the first time it happens.

i was just another kid watching the Saturday morning shows first time i saw this - looking back, it seems that Circle of Blue and the signature song Sugar Sugar were probably the two best Archies tunes (though a whole bunch of them were plenty catchy...)

@akibubba1 I think "Circle of Blue" would have done well on the charts if released as a single. It still seems to be one of the most popular songs from The Archies' "Everything's Archie" album.

Another great song (I'm sounding like a broken record here--no pun intended.) Jughead did another fun skit involving food--always his speciality. I know everything is on dvd these days but didn't The Archie Show and its spinoffs ever come out on vhs back about 20 years ago or so? A friend said he saw some Star Trek animated shows in a Blockbuster video store back then when he lived in another state and I also rented some classic Loney Tunes cartoons from them back then.

@wainoco318 Thorn EMI put out four VHS tapes of "The Archie Show" back in the early 80's. Embassy put out 3 tapes of "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" at about the same time that contained segments originally from "The Archie Comedy Hour." The entire "Star Trek" animated series was released on VHS tapes from Paramount Home Video back around 1990 I believe. Warner Bros. cartoons were a staple on VHS tape throughout the 80's and 90's.

@TimFrith24 Yes they did, and Entertainment Rights has been spun off to ClassicMedia.
