RoboCup WorldCup 2009: Finals
The competition ends with the Finals on the last day, where the ve teams with the highest total score compete. The concept is the same as in the Open Challenge. Every team in the Finals can choose freely what to demonstrate. The performance is evaluated by a jury and the Executive Committee. The jury will consist of people from various background, not necessarily only from robotics.
The demonstration in the Finals does not have to be dierent from the one shown in the open challenge (if any). It does not have to be the same either.
A wireless microphone and a video projector are provided.
About RoboCup@Home:
RoboCup@Home is a new league inside the RoboCup competitions that focuses on real-world applications and human-machine interaction with autonomous robots. The aim is to foster the development of useful robotic applications that can assist humans in everyday life.
The ultimate scenario is the real world itself. To build up the required technologies gradually a basic home environment is provided as a general scenario. In the first years it will consist of a living room and a kitchen but soon it should also involve other areas of daily life, such as a garden/park area, a shop, a street or other public places

About RoboCup:
RoboCup is an international research and education initiative. Its goal is to foster artificial intelligence and robotics research by providing a standard problem where a wide range of technologies can be examined and integrated.
The concept of soccer-playing robots was first introduced in 1993. Following a two-year feasibility study, in August 1995, an announcement was made on the introduction of the first international conferences and football games. In July 1997, the first official conference and games were held in Nagoya, Japan. Followed by Paris, Stockholm, Melbourne and Seattle where the annual events attracted many participants and spectators. The 6th RoboCup 2002 was held in Fukuoka, Japan in cooperation with Busan, Korea, while the 7th edition in 2003 took place in Padua, Italy. In 2004 in Lisbon, Portugal. 2005 in Osaka, Japan, 2006 in Bremen, Germany, 2007 in Atlanta, USA, 2008 in Suzhou, China, and and now in Graz Austria. The events were covered by national and international media all over the world.
