The International Monetary Fund has projected that the economy in Africa will grow at 6 percent next year supported by a one off boost in production. This will be above this year's expected growth of 5 percent. However, the Breton woods institution does not rule out threats to these prospects. The IMF released a report in Nairobi as Planning Minister Wycliffe Oparanya told Reuters that the government had revised downwards Kenya's projected growth in 2011 from between 4.2 and 4.5 percent to 4 percent and under slowed by a weak shilling.
