We took a small commuter plane to Homer and let me tell you - flying on a little commuter-prop plane is a very different experience - just climbing to gain elevation feels like a big struggle and you really start to wonder if it's time to dump some cargo because we are not going to make it.

  • this is a dash8 - Q100

  • @azzkkr85 That's from Kenai. That's not small at all. In the villages, only the main hubs got the big planes. I lived in a village with only 700 people and the biggest we ever got was a Cessna 406.

  • @villageboyak the c-17 and iv seen a f-22 take off from Kenai mun. and c-130s. i live in kenai,AK.

  • @azzkkr85 Yes, I live in Alaska. In fact, I've lived my whole life (17 years) here. I spent 11 years in a village. We never got planes this big except for rare occasions. Only in Anchorage and the main hubs in the state did we see jets and planes bigger than a Twin Otter. I know about all those planes, but those only go to military bases or the bigger airports.

  • @villageboyak do u live in Alaska. i do and if u dont i think i know just a tad bit more about this state. and theres c-130s c-17s and theres a big ass one and its bigger than a 747 i think. i think its called a c5-galaxe.

  • @azzkkr85 What I mean is flying within the state. I know that Anchorage and Fairbanks get them, but not the rest of the state. Everyone was saying how small this aircraft seems, but for those of us here, we think it's big. Get your facts straight.

  • @villageboyak thats bull shit at ted stephens int the have 747 737 dc-10 ect... if u dont live in alaska how should u know all that.

  • That's a very big plane for flying in Alaska.
