InterAct Theatre Company (Philadelphia, PA) presents the World Premiere production of SILVERHILL. Written by Thomas Gibbons. Directed by Seth Rozin. Featuring Christopher Coucill, Tim Moyer, Nancy Boykin, Dan Hodge, Pierce Cravens, Jessica DalCanton & Mary Tuomanen. Video and editing by Thiasus Films.
InterAct Theatre opens its 23rd season with the highly-anticipated new play from Philadelphia playwright Thomas Gibbons, author of InterAct's #1 best-selling show, PERMANENT COLLECTION. SILVERHILL is an enthralling new drama inspired by one of the most fascinating moments in American history. Based on the 19th century Oneida community of upstate New York, SILVERHILL is a play about innocence lost - but not by an individual so much as a community, and by extension, American society as a whole. Silverhill is a self-supporting Christian community that openly and successfully practices complex marriage and the communal sharing of wealth under the spiritual leadership of its charismatic founder. But when one young member introduces the idea that Silverhill should abandon communism and become a corporation, the spirit of capitalism threatens to shatter the community's peaceful utopia.
On stage October 22 - November 14, 2010.

@DancingTillIDie I wasn't attempting to insult you. I was simply giving you a reality check. You are perceiving "Christian persecution" where none exists.

@heathdwatts - No I don't. Thanks for the insult.

@DancingTillIDie Just saw the performance today. As a conservative Christian I think you would really enjoy the play. Come to Philly and enjoy!.

@DancingTillIDie How are people palpably hostile to you in Philadelphia? Do you stand on a street corner screaming bible verses? If you don't draw attention to yourself, your Christianity probably goes unnoticed, just as my atheism does.

Nice. I am a conservative Christian from the distant suburbs. I don't go to Philly much because hostility to me is palpable there. So I won't be seeing this. Nevertheless you seem to have cast this well and for the most part I applaud what I have seen of the playwright.
