MYFOXNY.COM - From iconic portraits such as Gilbert Stuart's George Washington to the massive painting titled "Washington Crossing the Delaware," the Metropolitan Museum unveiled the new American wing this week after eight years of renovating.
The 30,000-square-foot space houses hundreds of great American works broken down in themes, including Civil War, Hudson River Valley School, and American West.
To bring harmony between each and every piece, the met paid close attention to the new galleries' architecture.
The pieces date back to 1700s all the way the 1920.
