If you are learning piano on your own and you want a few tricks and tips about how to play the style of piano I play, these quick ones should help you out a lot.

1. Think of the piano in terms of overlaying shapes.
2. Don't be afraid to interlace your hands.
3. Play patterns across the whole piano by playing interlacing chord shapes in adjacent octaves.

I hope that helps. Let me know if something isn't clear and I'll do my best to explain it. If you want to learn something else, let me know and if there isn't a good tutorial already out there, I'll try and put one up for you.

This didn't answer my original question about 'dressing it up'. I meant on how to figure out what notes to hit as 'filler notes' with a chord and what-not, or notes to hit between chords to fill space. Does that make sense? LOL Most likely not. It's difficult to explain.
