Here is the original Yeston and Kopit Phantom Richard White, performing the showstopping heartwrenching poem song, My Mother Bore Me. The cast recording was ok, but live, wow, Richard White is absolutely amazing!! (Though am I the only one who finds it ironic that he played Gaston, who's on the opposite side of spectrum from Erik?)
And I hate to sound off-topic or like a troll, but I never liked the Christine in the Yeston/Kopit version, she says she can handle Erik and convinces him that she loves him, but when the mask is off she acts like she's going to be sick and runs away (or in the case of the miniseries she faints).
