If you want to learn about Don Blankenship, Massey Energy and Blankenship's shady dealings with respect to his workers and unions, I reccommend the book 'Coal River' by Michael Shnayerson. Using interivews with Massey workers, Shnayerson tells the inside story of how Blankenship operates his mines, and the tactics Blankenship uses to break unions (amongst other things).
The book also details the struggles of West Virginians with real roots to put an end to the ravages of mountaintop removal.
