To find this trigate, you must get out of the map using the Pelican. This trigate is a very similar to the ones in Halo 2. This one is hidden in the mountains of the campaign mission Oni Sword Base. Currently, no trigate has been found in Halo 3: ODST yet. If anyone finds one, please let us know. You'll be featured in a video on our Youtube Channel!

  • you do know this is just where the map textures meet on a bad surface its in like 90% of game levels id say not really an easter egg serves no purpose

  • @atingf Well, in Halo 2, there was a whole conspiracy theory behind the trigates including an explanation as to why Bungie left those in the most out of sight locations in campaign and multiplayer missions. You should look up some of the trigates in Halo 2. I think you'll find the theories interesting and plausable.

  • @Generalkidd ''why Bungie left those in the most out of sight locations'' Thats because they are OUT OF SIGHT locations so nobody has to SEE them so they didn't fix the textures.

  • @JTshoot In Halo 2 however, the locations were out of sight, however, they were placed in such perfect positions such as between two pillars, right in the center of the rear of a space station, on the wall inside a cave, and so on. Easter Eggs are supposed to be out of sight. These trigates are out of sight and were such a huge deal in Halo 2. Obviously their importance was reduced in Halo 3 and subsequently, most people forgot about them by Halo: Reach which is unfortunate.

  • Am I like, the only one who can't understand what they're saying?

  • @beyboh That's what the text captions were for...

  • @mysterion25 Well, if you've been around since the beginning of Halo 2, you'll understand the signifigance behind the trigates. Obviously they were more important in Halo 2 as there were rumors behind the origin of the trigates. Anyways, this is mainly an easter egg directed towards veteran Halo players. People who are new to Halo (the ones that started in Halo: Reach), won't understand this easter egg.

  • Somebody explain the whole origin of the tri-gate concept to me

  • I did it!!! Great job you guys! If you go to far to the right than there will be a death barrier. And you can do it later in the level too.

  • its a texture glitch!!!! I wonder wut dumass came up with the conspiricy. they r insaine.

  • lol i got on top of the pelican 40 times without partner....i keep getting knocked off tho :S

  • could someone explain in deep detail about theses "gates" and what they do?

  • fake and gay

  • Can I add you?

  • question? in halo 2 are we at sword base or wat?

  • @Generalkidd i understand this easter egg perfectly, the reason their getting less and less "trigates" as the games move along means their able to control their textures more and more meaning theres no need for these "trigates" because of the graphic capabilityyou see trigates in a hell of alot of old games and a hell of alot of N64 games and each one you have to glitch or gameshark to find them, Trigates arn't holy or important in any way there just there to help ballance the look of the scenes

  • WAIT PAUSE THE VIDEO AT 3:47 OR 3:46, AND LOOK AT TH TOP RIGHT CORNER OF VIDEO I SAW ANOTHER ONE I THINK
