  • I think you are right...Although I love Mr. Horowitz, the greatest of all, at least for myself, Rubinstein (live) brings it out much better and finer...what is very important for Chopin, the aristocrat...Nevertheless Mr. Horowitz coul be also unique in his simplicity when playing for instance Liszt's Aubord d'une source...but unfortunatelly not here. I agree, it is too big for the piece...

  • I listened to this interpretation after hearing those of about five or six others, including Pollini, Rubinstein, Yokoyama, Lisitsa, Backhaus, Arrau... and this is the version I like the least. Similar to Lang Lang, he tried to make more out of it with his moody rubatos but... here more is less! I like more Chopin and less Horowitz.
