This is a closer look at the Tapwave Zodiac handheld released in 2003. It only lasted a couple of years, so it's a fairly rare handheld to find these days.

  • U should do a review of the tiger electronics "gamecom" handheld

  • haha I remember being in middle school and I saw an ad for this and i thought this was amazing.

    Then I saw the PSP.

  • I had one of these, it was pretty cool bad then. the system just didn't had top quality games..if it had third party game support it would have been a great gaming handheld

  • I like your dog! Nice programming!

  • I have one of these. It only had 128MB of memory - but you expanded that with SD cards so you could have a couple of GB if you wanted. And because it has TWO SD card slots, you could have the extra memory in one and use the other to play games.

I love the Zodiac. It feels nice and well built in your hands....the brushed metal case feels better than any gaming handheld ever built. The shoulder buttons are nicer than the PSP ones to IMHO. Screen is 320 x 480 too - same as iPhone until iPhone 4.

  • @trinidadparaminman - It was a lot of space for game saves. But for games, it was pathetic. Even back in the day. I would have at least hoped for 512MB. But 128 being the "large" model?? There's no excuse.

I only say it in terms of nowadays. Unless you really have an interest to develop games on this, or just want to collect it, for functionality alone, there are devices today that blast Zodiac out of the water.

  • @dogeymon83 yeah but this came out late 2003, at that time 128 mb was a lot of storage!

  • one word, subscrible, nice vids ;)

  • The thing only had a mere 128mb internal storage!!!!

  • Battery life was terrible. And it's woefully outdated nowadays. I don't recommend getting a zodiac anymore
