@custer444 I agree 100%. Mine was a 1981 without the Turbo. it was a 4.9 301CI. low HP, and broke down quiet often. I sold it and bought a used Corvette. it was a great looking car, the Black on Gold with the bird.

@custer444 My pops purchased a 1981 Y84 Turbo T/A just like this one from the auction in 1985 she had a little wiring harness melt down, he replaced it and sold it and now he kicks himself in the ass for it and for also selling his 68 GTO conv. as well.

@ludwigking Hmm. Intercooler is not used to cool down the turbo itself. Instead it cools down the compressed air coming from tubo and going in the engine. Cooler air = more dense = less knocking = higher boost safely = more power.

Hey there i had this very car with tan interior i put louvers on the back window the sticker price bd to put rand new was 12,288.68 i bought it brand new,, loved that car it was my very first , but i beg to differ with you the car had a 301 that was truly gutless and the turbo helped alittle but im telling you this was one of the biggest lemon cars on the rd ,, they had 4 turbos i motor , love that car i would buy one again and just with the new tech stuff great
