  • Depends on who you ask... some Yolngu might say yes, others no. But Elcho Island is part of the Yolngu cultural bloc, Groote Eylandt is not.

  • Interesting. Does this Island have its own style  like Groote Eylandt?

  • FYI, the first song is a Galpu song as in what Djalu and other members of his family might play, the second tune played by Tom Dhakaliny is a Gupapuyngu song... you might recognise it as being very similar to what I've recorded David Dharrapuy playing! Does that answer your question?
