To continue our series on installing alternate Window Managers in Ubuntu 11.10 for those who aren't fans of Unity; we will now cover how to install Xfce using Ubuntu 11.10. Xfce is a great minimal window manager. It cuts a lot of the bloat from the larger solutions making it run fast and have a very small, lightweight footprint on your resources.
The drawback of Xfce is it's appearance. It isn't the prettiest desktop environment out there, but what it lacks for in looks it makes up for in speed and size. For those of you who aren't command line ninja's we will be using the Ubuntu Software Center to complete this install.
