@bjrebo The following steps will resolve Audio Stuttering problems on this system.
Update your Alienware M17x system with BIOS A04 (R271701.iso) or later. This BIOS release includes various DPC fixes.
Ensure Alienware wireless card driver for your particular hardware are installed since these drivers do not have the latency issues found in the Microsoft native driver.

Mine started doing this just around the time my battery reached its critical level which needs to be replaced badly. It might have something to do with the battery. Never know

crap. mine doesnt stutter but keep hang like f**k. i reformat still keep hanging, reinstall drivers update drivers also hang, technician came down to change everything inside also hang, reformat again still hang. fuck this piece of shit laptop

Same issue on the M17 with ATI cards. Even with Xrossfire Disabled.
Check out my channel or whatever and watch my video where I'm trying to fight the lich king and the game basically becomes unplayable. Note: WoW settings are turned ALL the way down. I'm pissed. I want my $2700 back. I recently sent it in after many hours on the phone. It's on its way in now. Message me and I'll let you know what happens. I'm not letting this one ride. I sent them videos/screenshots/etc.
Do you have it plugged in or are you running on just battery power

do you have dual gpu's? i heard disabling sli helps.

yes dual nvidia 280's... i have tried disabling one of the gpu's to no avail. the issue is with the powermitzer function on the cards
