No. 19 from Vassily Brandt's Orchestral Etudes for Trumpet. I skipped ahead to record No. 19 because of several request from students down in Texas who have to play this etude for the Texas UIL, All-State and All Region Band and Orchestra tryouts. Good luck, I hope this recording helps.

  • What type of recording equipment are you using?

  • I use my Canon S2IS Camera.

  • That's some seriously double tounging. How do you do it?

  • LOTS of practice. Arban's pg. 155-190: slow, fast, forwards, backwards, all "K", all "T", etc. Trust me....If I can do it, anyone can!

  • Double tonguing.

  • Nice One!

  • my favorite. TX. All STATE 2008-09. :)

  • omg that was so cool i wish i could do that you have great sound quality and i can hear how staccotoed (did i spell that right?) and seperated your notes are thats really hard to do...

  • Awesome of you to post this for the Texas tpeters. I'll thank you for them!

  • I started in the Junior high band and I messed up my embouchure so even though I had an overbite I played like an upstream player and my bottom teeth came in front of my top teeth haha. Then I got a trumpet tutor and he never changed my embouchure it just changed over time since he improved me everywhere else.

  • yeah he really doesn't. and his reference to "air for band" evidences is newbocity. at any rate most people just don't understand that some players are downstream players, and because of their jaw structure have to point the bell downwards.

    (such as myself)

  • Must have been really bad 'teachers' then. The angle of your horn depends on the physical characteristics of the person playing. It has NOTHING to do with what style of music you're playing.

  • You have no clue..

  • You wouldn't happen to know what the All-State Etudes for the year 2006 were, would you?

  • wow.
