Sipple hadn't sought the fame; even asked police not to release his name; then grew bitter at what fame cost him. "My brother always felt [Ford] could have at least shook his hand or at least stood up someplace and had him appear with him and congratulate him." He lost a suit against the media, drank more & more, his weight ballooning to 300 lbs., & died alone of pneumonia in a cheap Tenderloin apartment, his body discovered several days later.
