  • Well, I have been away for a while from the Jeep stuff. This is the first vehicle i have ever driven that i can't use the auto-fill shutoff. Even when pumping slower (1/4), it will still burp up gas unless you stop about a gallon from full. Then after letting it breathe for a few seconds finish filling it.

  • Eh, let him talk smack. Considering he took the time to watch a video of someone putting gas in their tank and post back a comment like that when they don't even have the problem...

When I came back to the dealer with a video (more than one now), I now have some parts on order under warranty to see if it will fix the problem.

Chrysler now has a recall on that. It was a problem on some new JK's.

  • The tank vent filter dirty/blocked. I took mine out, blasted air through it, vacuumed it, and reinstalled it. No more problem.

  • those pumps sure do fill up pretty quick.maybe thats the prob. my `10 is good to go...

  • Its a defective check valve in the gas tank. Dodge recalled tens of thousands of vehicles, but clearly didn't include all the defective units in their recall. After a couple of calls, Dodge agreed to pay to replace my tank and filler tube.

  • Mine does this too!

  • just happened to me again today. it's embarrising to have to go in and tell the clerk that my jeep pissed $1.50 worth of gas on the pavement. if you try raising the ass end of the nozzle, as your tank is about full, it may prevent the overfill. that has worked for me time to time.

  • Man, do I know how to live this dream. Talk to Jeep and it's a mystery to them....

  • lol they say not to use cell phones while at pumps and yet you use your camcorder??? I know that nothing is going to happen , saw it on mythbusters lol

  • I have a 08 wrangler x and mine does this like every other time I fill it up, I was just thinking it was a problem with the gas pup at the station, but after seeing all these vids its an obvious defect by jeep, and does anyone else have problems with thier window seals leaking, they have replaced all of mine at least twice over.

  • I have the same problem. I cant insert the nozzle in the entire way or it will burp every time.
