"Guru ji talks again and again about 'Bhaana Mannana', living in the will of the Creator. If everything happens in God's will, do you think Guruji wants us to simply accept that everything in our lives at present and all to come to us in the future is the best for us as decided by Vaheguru and that there is no reason to ask for anything?

How does free will comes into it? How do we know when to stop our own efforts and just surrender and accept?!!"

  • The answer was well thought out and presented. But It makes me wonder, I know many Sikhs who live their lives practicing non-Sikh activities and they just shrug it off by saying that "my heart is pure and that the Guru knows that my heart is pure". Is this the will of God too? I've always seen this answer as a cheap way of manipulating the teachings of many hundreds of years. It's so easy for people to use simple words to justify their lifestyle choices that are counter to Sikh teachings

  • Is there a good teaching to know when to act and when not to act? Or do you just go with your gut?

  • if one is required to cut his or her hair, in that moment, and essentially betray our guru ji's will, then is it a matter or acting in accordance to one's ego, or is one acting out what is required of him or her?

  • Thank you! well said very simple and true
