Do you groove with energy?

Develop an awareness and perception for resolution points and how they affect a groove.

By doing a simple clapping excercise, does the resolution point that you are clapping on have a sense of FORWARD MOTION or BACKWARD MOTION?

Certain resolution points have a strong sense of FORWARD MOTION, such as beat 4 and the "&" of beat 4.

Certain beats have a strong sense of BACKWARD MOTION, such as the "e" of beat 1.

This knowledge can be usefull to help create energy and forward motion within your grooves and bass solos, keeping your phrasing from sounding "square".

Feel it for yourself and start energizing your grooves by dropping in some resolution points that have a strong sense of forward motion!
