I'm in the same boat as some people in here... i heard this when i was a kid & didn't know who it was by for the longest time. I had apparently recorded many Percy Faith Christmas arrangements on my tape recorder in the 80s though. I finally discovered who it was about 10 years ago & caught up with all those songs on my tapes & more!

This song was composed by Percy Faith and he of course also arranged and conducted it probably using a large orchestra with a lush string section.
It is a simple but beautiful and moving song - it talks of simpler times....almost looks at Christmas through the eyes of a child.
Percy Faith arrangements are not just easy listening - just pay attention to the harmonies and counterharmonies.......

Was worried I wouldn't be able to find this on YouTube...At the beginning of every Christmas season my father would buy a new Christmas album for our family to enjoy. It was one of his traditions and I recall this as being one of his favourite songs. Christmases aren't the same without you, Dad, but I think you'd be pleased to know we're still carrying on your traditions.
