Learn it all at a workshop: www.mattgranger.com/workshops

Part 10 of a series to teach you everything you need to know to master strobist photography techniques.

Today I shot Dirdy Birdy - a Sydney Based pole dancer and teacher. Check out her pages:

That Nikon Guy (Matt Granger) today shows you a series of lighting set ups you can achieve with strobist techniques, whilst shooting a dancer indoors.

Dirdys home was beautiful - but a real challenge to shoot in. It was beautiful and bright, which made obscuring the background to focus on her difficult. What do you think of the results (more images to share later)

  • @alistairpayne87 cheers

  • You guys were all so cute, and you thatnikonguy crack me up. You have such a wonderful personality and you seem to have a great connection with all your models and or clients.

  • @4EVERMYSERENITY thank you - it was a fun shoot - and Amy and Dirdy are very sweet.

  • Fascinating! You have a MASSIVE window light that's gorgeous and soft and you go use a flash on the wrong side and under expose terribly ! I wouldn't of used a flash at all in that room, well not for most of the shots I would take. I would of got your f1.4 out. The best light is free.

  • @chrisallen236 yep can use window light, but as the backgrounds are distracting, light helps seperate the model from BG. Also, at 1.4 I would get a few inches in focus - I wanted much more.

  • I know she's a sexy woman with a great body but honestly I'm just freaking out how bloody strong she is amazing.

  • @burd1234 truly amazing
