@OonaCanute I'm assuming this may vary depending on the environmental and annual status of the seal population, however on the DFO web site it states that seals must be old enough to that they are independent of their mothers before being able to be hunted.

@MolsenMinion You've been misinformed. Not only are the seals not overpopulating, they're experiencing a rapid population drop, partly because of the hunters are killing all the pups and partly because the ice is melting so fast up there. Seal pups can't swim so they end up drowning.
The seal in this video is not a harp seal, incidentally, which are the ones that the hunters kill. (The ones that native people hunt and rely on are ring-necked seals.)

@MBAGQ47P Question.. killing what animals I might ask? and how the hell did you get 19 thumbs up for this? People just not really paying attention to the video apparently... Exactly how I feel about people looking at the seal hunt.. " save the seals ".. I can honestly think of other species that we should be more concerned about then the overpopulating seals... maybe if we got those other animals Seal Masks... people would actually give a dam... cause looks mean life or death.. lol..

@Tratiz now? when wasn't it?...
