Only three weeks down the line and the slum upgrading programme is facing what the new high rise residents are terming as serious challenges. They have to contend with heaps of garbage, lack of water and electricity. With phase two of the relocation process set to begin next week, the former slum dwellers are coming to terms with the reality that life is not as rosy as they had expected.
Cheers Daniels. As it emerges, it was a simple political statement. Surely, why take more than 1000 people into a housing place and there is no flowing water and no electricity, in a country that security is a problem. They should have been left in the slum then!

What is wrong with planning in Kenya? Can't we even make the most basic of things operational. If this is a sign of things to come, people might as well move out because this is going to end up being a health nightmare.
