CLICK HERE!! :-) 2nd of 2 videos on irrational beliefs. When someone can believe the un-believable, that person then posesses the skill to be brainwashed or hypnotised. The more unbelieveable something becomes, the more firmly one believes in it.

Irrational beliefs are acquired in several ways:

1. Repetition. A false statement is eventually accepted as true if repeated enough times. If enough people use a wrong name for a person long enough, even the wrongly-named person will believe they have that false name too.

2. Incremental Exposure to belief. Rome is never built in a day. Everyone is unique in the process, has a different speed of uptake.

3. Behaviour Modification. Person seeks situations which reinforce the belief, and actively avoid associations that threaten the belief investment. Modified behaviour can also carry out work or a service of any kind.

4. Information Control, self-imposed. Have you ever been reading the 'wrong' newspaper to the one you normally read and felt dissonant? That is this feeling in its mildest form. Self-imposed information filtering and 'selective hearing' becomes an increasing habit. This learnt skill also ensures painful negative thoughts are avoided.

5. Thought-Stopping. In response to penetrated defences, a mental process kicks in to deflect what is perceived as an 'attack'. This may be chanting inside, laughing, speaking nonsense phrases, or directing the mind to an unsolve-able paradox previously learnt.

Notes: For the bw person, their world becomes sharply separated into 2 sides, inside and outside; naturally, the 'outside' would be perceived as 'bad' and the 'inside' as 'good'.

Important Note: The boundary between inside/outside does not respect family ties or bond between spouses. The divide can intersect any inter-person bond, even an individual.

  • washing your brain with bullshit won't make it any cleaner ;)

  • @AAPetofile Yes, what cult is this about? Is this video a collection of various people under the influence of an x amount of paradigms. I think that James Randi said it best when he admonished to be skeptical and always ask questions.

  • I think people should really pay attention to this red flag: "Forced to self-rationalize as a personal failing"

The overarching message of the Landmark forum was, "everything you think is an excuse, and the only way to live a happy life is to continue with Landmark Education". Oh, and shell out $500-1000 for every class. It's like Scientology-lite.

  • What is Landmark?

  • Yeah and a lot of people believe in the Holocaust, They're living a lie lol.

  • @IllegalGathering Hitler said: The bigger the lie, The more people will believe it,
