Part two of this three part series covers how to disable the on-board video using Windows. If you do not have any on-board video on your computer, then please skip to part three of this series to install the drivers for your ATI graphics card.
Note: If you go onto Part 3 of this series and do not get any video on your monitor, then you may need to also disable the on-board video in what is called the BIOS setup before switching monitors. This will appear before your computer boots into Windows and every computer has different BIOS manufacturers. Please consult either your motherboard documentation, or contact your reseller's technical support line, to see how to disable the on-board video in your BIOS.

@RobiticGamer Windows will usually remove the on-board video from your computer once the new card is installed. If it is still showing up, then you may want to check your system BIOS as it may have a setting that is going back to the on-board video, causing it to still show up in Device Manager. I would check with the manufacturer of your computer to see about accessing your BIOS to disable the on-board video, or switching to "Auto" in the BIOS for the on-board video.

hey.. how will i disable my on-board video when its not working in the 1st place? thats why i got a new graphics card
xoxlizzie0103xox 1 day ago
@xoxlizzie0103xox Since most new video cards are plug and play, simply put the new card in and plug a monitor into the new card to see if you get video. If you do, then you can continue installing the drivers for the new graphics card. If you do not get video, then you may want to make sure the new card works by trying it on another computer. If it detects on another computer, you will have to replace the motherboard that had the on-board video on it.

First i uninstalled my onboard video. than i shut my computer download and unplugged the power supply and everything else.than i put the card in and when i plug the VGA plug in it it says no signal than the screen is blank. can you help me?
desmond1300 1 day ago
@desmond1300 Were you plugging the VGA cable into the old card or the new one? If you plugged into the new one, try the old one to see if you get video. If you do, go to device manager in Windows to see if the new video card is being detected at all. If the new card is not detected in Windows, I would try the video card in another computer to see if there is a hardware issue with the card.

As soon as my new card went in my mouse stopped working
BlueRubberDuck2 2 days ago
@BlueRubberDuck2 You may want to try booting into Safe Mode as well to see if your computer freezes while running with minimum drivers to see if you get the same problem. I would try putting the video card in another slot to see if you get the same problem, if your motherboard supports more than one slot for the video card. If it does not, you may want to try another computer to see if you get the same problem. If the system still freezes, contact the video card manufacturer.
