  • Thanks for posting this piece. Our history must be preserved.

  • Why do people have so much of a hard-on for politics that a 1954 movie trailer can make them want to comment about it. Learn how to compartmentalize your life and I am sure you will be healthier and happier for it.

  • What? This already happened? Man do I feel let down, nobody told me!

  • Politics....(yawn) Boooorrrriiinngg!!

  • @HisEmptyHouse Maybe not commies, but greedy, ignorant A holes. Blacks weren't allowed in most restaurants, lynchings were rampant, we had recently dropped A bombs on defenseless Japanese citizens, our CIA were killing world leaders and replacing them with ones we supported, chemical and manufacturing factories were polluting our environment with absolutely no oversight, the mafia ran New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas, etc. Oh, the good ol' days!

  • @Silkie341 Aren't these old movies cool? Half of the enjoyment is making fun of them....I wanna see the rocket ship that can out run an asteriod "sometime before 2000 A.D." :-)

It's almost as fun as making fun of the sexes!

  • @capie44 The full film is on this site in the appropriate section and Benson Fong isn't exactly white, just for the record.

  • So, this is where Ronald Reagan got his ideas for his "star wars" program. Great, let's all extend our empires into space. Still, this is a great movie. I hated to see Ross Martin get it.

  • @fliegeroh Since you seem to love the fifties so much it may shock you to realize we had the highest tax rates and some of the biggest well funded social welfare programs we ever had in our history back then. The tax rates on the rich have since been stripped away and those social programs have been cut instead. By the standards of ridiculous tabloids like fox news we were all commies back then.

  • @fliegeroh We had that confidence because the manufacturing in the rest of the world had been destroyed in the wake of WW2. Our economic boom was because we had no competition. Nowadays we have to remember that there is more to the world than the US. If you want to keep living in the past be my guest but the world changes and if you can't adapt then don't whine about being left in the dust - or worse yet, try to drag other people down with you by likening adaption to weakness.

  • @fliegeroh LOL
