I have no idea what the words in this song mean. All I know is every time I hear it I nearly cry it's so lovely. This is sung by Connie Dover and all the art is from the Deviant Art web site. Just type in "Celtic" in the search tool and they will all come up.

  • To the Christian partisans of one stripe or another who want to claim this for their little group, whether it is centered in Rome or Canterbury or nowhere, Jesus didn't come so we could form parties each claiming to have the purist truth and all the good stuff. He came to save all who would repent and follow Him and all the rest is inconsequential detail. Wonderful song and great performance.

  • @lowlandpark Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and comments.

  • English translation: Where charity and love are, there God is. The love of Christ has gathered us into one flock. Let us exult, and in Him be joyful. Let us fear and let us love the living God. And from a sincere heart let us love each other (and Him). Where charity and love are, there God is. Therefore, whensoever we are gathered as one: Lest we in mind be divided, let us beware. Let cease malicious quarrels, let strife give way. And in the midst of us be Christ our God.

  • @batlady2 no problem--thanks for posting :)

  • @glvdtxn I find it hard for it to be Episcopal with being in Latin. The Episcopal denounces any Latin in its rites. It is a angelican religion that went away from the beliefs of the Church of England as well as the Catholic Church.Episcopal also does not believe in the prayer of saints as what is spoken in this hymn. This is 100% Gregorian 4th century Catholic prayer that was chanted all day long on Holy Thursday.
