michael welner is a total idiot. His analysis--if you call it that--is superficial--a mere repetition of cliches (i. e. describing mass murderers with ambiguous terms like "perverts"). Strikes me as someone who is more concerned with reveling in the attention he gets for being an "expert" who reinforces popular perceptions. So if we call mass shooters "perverts," then the equivocational link to child molesters will make them not go on a shooting spree? Yeah, right.
While we're at it, let's call all criminals "cowards," and call suicide "self-murder," and see if that helps. Oh and by the way, since forcing someone into your car and driving them out of the city is kidnapping, that means that if you take a drive in the country to get away from the stress of society, you're a "self-kidnapper."
