THE INTERVIEW - Former Iranian President and one of the fathers of the Islamic revolution gives an exclusive interview to France 24 as the repression against the opposition in Iran mounts. Chairman of the Expediency Council (which adjudicates disputes over legislation) and the Assembly of Experts (which appoints, and can theoretically replace, the Supreme Leader), Hashemi Rafsanjani is one of the most influential men in the Islamic Republic.
