I set up my camcorder a few weeks back to see if I could capture some lightning because it was really storming that day, and I hadn't looked at it until recently when to my amazement I had captured a Lightning Ball, going along a chain-link fence and then up a telephone pole.

- This video was not taken by me, a user left the above report on a site about ball lightning with his email for anyone who wanted the video, this is what he emailed me.

Don't see it? all the action happens in the last 5 seconds between the houses.

See it in slow-mo:

  • Can you slow it way down?

    Thank you.

  • @robertgift, that sounds like a great idea, I might do that sometime but I have zero experience with video editing software, can anyone recommend some software for win7?

  • @robertgift I have now made a slow-mo version, link is in the description.

  • That's an epic experience.

  • A scientist once tried to replicate Benjamin Franklin's lightning-key experiment and got hit in the face by ball lightning. I can just imagine it casually floating into his face, all slow-like... And then his head exploding

  • @RiotYourFeelings you are right,I fear thunderstorms since my childhood, nobody can tell what they do.these uncontrollable forces, what they do,can anyone guess.♥

  • thank you, that I see it on you tube,in real I had a great fear...

  • @aether222 Sony vegas is great for that, but the pro version is pretty expensive

  • I saw ball lightning last weekend. Our temperatures raised more than 35 degrees last saturday and wind was blowing like crazy. Clear sky. No storms in sight. Dry-as-a-bone. Wind was whipping power lines, but there were no power lines anywhere near where were driving. A bright blueish green streak fizzled and shot across the road without making a sound about 30 feet from our windshield. Both myself and the driver saw it. Most unexplainable "WTF" thing I've ever seen. Incredible.
