Ya, that amendment is a bit weird... why reimport drug that you already have here, just do the same as Canadian and do come price controls!
You can even checkout canada's law, and the jurisprudence and adjust any loophole that may have appeared over the time.. thus even improve on it

Prescription drug reimportation sounds great, but it won't work. Any idiot can see that. I mean, "reimportation"? What does that mean? It means American drug manufacturers who make enough money off regularly-priced drugs in the US who can afford to sell in other nations with price controls will somehow be forced or allowed to resell those drugs.
But how in the hell are we gonna get those price-controlled discounts?? It'll be the AMERICAN drug manufacturers selling those same drugs HERE.

Poor Dorgan. He got royally screwed. I hope he gets his ammendment passed. Then I hope he tells the rest of the senate to go screw themselves on his last day in office.
