I've just finished reading Misadventure in the Middle East. A terrific read. Having painted in Oman, UAE & Kuwait over the last 4 years, I can relate to a number of the points of self discovery you share. I look forward to reading "In search of the English Eccentric".

I applaud your comments and your reasoning for writing your book. Reading some of the comments that other people wrote about these 'eccentrics' is shows a remarkable lack of creativity and rather too much conformity. It is so interesting that people seem affronted, offended or even threatened by the very nature of eccentricity. Your book, if nothing else, shows that society desperately needs these non-conformists, but i hope and am sure that your book demonstrates far more.
