DK0526......Imagine if that frying pan had the capacity and means to make the choice of using itself to strike you. I bet you would be eating out a lot more for fear of owning frying pans. :p

Lets hope we teach our children good morals...at some point we all face a time when we are weak and frail with age and our children make decisions like wiether to love and take care of us or let us rot in nursing homes....or worse yet abuse us! ultimately, we are the influence that guides them! We get what we deserve...Of course we may decide to not be so weak and form a union with technology via genetic engineering and neural implants and machine interface and upgrades.

I fear that it's the human pscyh that is leading some to fear the future. Their inability to overcome the fear of things they can't fully understand. Maybe it's just survivalism, our own hardwired behavior. In certain respects, I do agree . A.I., in theory, could try to evolve on it's own, possibly with the help of it's environment. So it would be up to us in the beginning. I suppose that's when our actions would matter. After and if a system of A.I. evolves, it'll be up to it and not us. Right?

Why fear technology? Tech from technique or use of....and nology or knowledge...are not to be feared. A frying pan is technology. You can use it to fry an egg or bash someones head in. It is people who use tools for good or evil. Very advanced and powerful tools are no different. You can cook many eggs at once or bash a shit load of heads in...but its all up to us!
