Motorcycle designer, racer and Renaissance man Roland Sands talks about his collaboration with Bell Helmets on the all new Bell Star Carbon RSD Speed Freak, as well as his contributions to the Bell Custom 500, Vortex and Drifter.
I have to admit that I love the looks of the Bell Star, but the helmet is really heavy, even the carbon version is heavy...more than 200gr over the HJC RPHA10 or the Shark Race R Pro...
I have taken a common super-bike design and modified it by giving the rider a 3 point suspension system. The result:- 700-900 percent increase in range with zero physical punishment or fatigue - Dramatically increased control due to better use of arms and better weight distribution - Radically increased comfort due to even suspension of upper body and full protection from cold weather (strong wind tunnel effect) raceheadrest website- helmet design
I LOVE my RSD speed freak and my Cerwinski... nice work Bell!!!
