When someone says,I am a Garifuna, that person is acknowledging the fact that she/he has Carib, Arawak and African blood pumping from their heart and through their veins. Because, the Garifuna Nation is a hybrid race which included the Carib and Arawak Nations of South America and the Caribbean, and the West Africans from Mali. Over a period of time, every aspect of the Garifuna Nation-i.e. Language, Music, Customs, Diet and Divination- was affected by these three nations. For more info, visit: http://www.garinet.com

  • Garifunas have a great spirit and those dancing kids are an example of it. Unfortunately, years ago, some people took advantage of them by offering a bad deal to build on their land. Today some of the families have a hard time facing their current situation but many good people are pitching in by helping kids to get an education that will bring them, I’m sure a brighter future. Garifuna kids are the future of the Garifuna Nation and with them, the traditions and the culture will live for ever.

  • WOW! IM IN LOVE WITH MY CULTURE! AINT WE C00ll

  • that has nothing to do with Honduras. The Country maybe very nice but that is generations of Africa heritage that has remained true. Even though I'm not of the Garifuna I love the culture because it gives all black people from any country a glimpse of tradition. so VIVA Tradition

  • I'm realizing that we as black people have to many similarities, no matter where the slave traders dropped us off at! In the beginning, watching the little boys dancing, it reminded me so much of the dances that the guys and girls do in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA! I love my African culture and one day I hope to go back home. But first, I'm gonna visit Honduras!!
