States with the highest immigration are also the states with the largest economies, compare this to anti-immigration states like Texas and Arizona, where if this rhetoric continues you will see economic decline. Now apply this logic to all capitalist countries, capitalism is the outgrowth of a nation that influence its neighbors, in exchange for cheaper labor.

Every nation turn capitalist will have to deal with immigration, otherwise it is not capitalist but a communist country. Heavy regulation = communism. All developed capitalist countries have immigration issues, and will continue to do so. Previous empires including the Roman Empire fall due to stringent anti immigration laws. Empires and nations grow due to the exchange of goods and services, including labor.

Macro Economics determines the influx of immigration, not politics. capitalism allows for this exchange to happen all the time. It happened during the European Immigration throughout the beginning of the previous century, followed by Latin countries, and soon enough Asian countries and Middle Eastern. You can regulate but if there is a need, these laws will fail regardless of the sentiments of the people.

@mtggod Not by definition, no. People tend to confuse the word "illegal" with "criminal." Most immigration law is civil, not criminal. If a person overstays there visa and becomes unlawfully present they are not "criminals" under the law, though they are an "illegal immigrant" who is "unlawfully present." The penalties are only civil.
