If you have a washer with 2 piece agitator and the top doesn't work right this is your answer.
If you have a Whirlpool, Kenmore, KitchenAid or Roeper with a 2 piece agitator chances are you will eventuallly have to replace the dogs in the agitator to make it work properly. Time was about 10 minutes and it was 12 bucks for the parts with shipping. Cheaper than a new washer.

I ran the info on this washer and it was from 1994, I was suprised that they still has wood grain in 94 but as far as I can tell the date was right. This machine has seen heavy usage from the previous owners as well as us, the dryer that went with it got replaced in 2001 for some reason.

  • wow - order from amazon, from "Supplyland" - $3.67+free shipping! will arrive in 3-5days. Stupid Sears wanted 8 bucks plus $9 shipping! arriving in 2 weeks!

Thanks for the video, very well done/clear.

  • Thank you so much for this video. Had same problem and had no idea was so easily fixable. Agitator dogs were 9.95 at local Sears parts counter - I fixed my washer in like 10 minutes thanks to your video. I'm sure you saved me 100+ bucks.

  • GOOD VIDEO. RIGHTY TIGHTY LEFTY LOOSEY

  • Nice Tip. was an easy fix. got them from a local sears repair center for 10 bucks.

  • I know how to replace all the parts too, I'd save myself probably 500 bucks too.

  • @nismokittie Thanks for the tip. Would not have known to look for this. Fixing mine tomorrow.

  • Thanks so much. My Kenmore started doing this about a week ago. Pretty much knew what the problem was in general but always nice to see the actual steps and parts required. You made it easier for me. Thanks again.

  • @markt317 hey, if you look into the piece that has the teeth all around it, you will see two tiny tabs 180 degrees away from each other. i pried then away from the tabs holding them in and pulled up at the same time...somehow it came apart...it wasn't that easy, not sure why the guy in the demo video had it so easy as i fought mine for about thirty mins...good luck

  • Wow! You just saved me hundreds of dollars. I am so excited about this easy repair!

  • I know that repair! Have a Kenmore from 2008 500 series that is still working great. I have some vids of it too.
