ESSENCE magazine, the preeminent lifestyle magazine for African-American women, will celebrate some of Tinsel Town's best with the first annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, taking place during Oscar Week on Thursday, February 21, in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The star-studded event will honor three of Hollywood's finest who have helped to change and inspire positive images of Black women in television and film—both in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes. The ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon commemorates ESSENCE magazine's annual Hollywood issue.

@newport5042005...People get mad when their shoe fits another's leg. Then somebody else starts to wear it. You refuse to realize that other countries are becoming just as good as America in manufacuring goods and services. Other countries are learning, growing up and coming up fast. Nobody wants to play second fiddle to America. So Americans should stop acting like spoilt kids and get to work investing in themselves to re-train and find new ways to beat the competition in production of goods!

@newport5042005...the second point is NAFTA is all about capitalism. America is a capitalist society. Market forces dictate the price of goods. So if you open the markets, the manufacture of goods will go were it is cheaper and efficient to make it. This drives prices of goods down and make goods and services cheaper. This is CAPITALISM. People keep blaming NAFTA. Isn't this the idea of CAPITALISM? To open the markets and allow market forces to dictate the price of goods. So blame capitalism!

@newport5042005...NAFTA is not the reason why there is foreclosures. Stop living in denial and putting up smoke screens. Foreclosures where caused by the American people and Mortgage lenders. People refused to live within their means. You should cut your coat according to your size! People bought houses they could not afford. You made a salary of $40,000 and u agree to buy a house of $400,000 to flip...the realtor would in turn fudge numbers on your application and put $80,000 as your salary.
