@GabriellesPianoMusic Totally not true... of course you can, you just have to make sure they know you are there by talking to them and holding a hand across their bum :)
-
@GabriellesPianoMusic well you can go round the back but don't get too close.

Rule 1) /Never/ stand behind a horse or pony. God some people are dumb. Trust me you do not want to get kicked by one.
-
omg the woman went behind the horse is she stupid what if it had kicked?

AbieyieLovesYou is right! Because my first lesson I had Pierre (person who teaches me how to ride) lead me around on a lead rope. Now I'm cantering and doing 3'5 jumps (practice 2'9 before shows) Besides you did good for your first time. Sometimes I still have trouble mounting! I've been riding ever since I was 5. The horses I rode were Charlie, Foresight, Nattie, and Dazzle, and Star. I rode Dazzle for 2 years and Charlie for 2 years Nattie for 1 year and Foresight ever since now.. Good Job =D

@destinyanna Well that's cool. Good luck with that. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's very unlikely that an instructor would let a beginner canter on their first lesson. If they did, I would find a new place to ride, that's potentially very dangerous.
