Set to the master's simmering slow-tempo blues composition "New Life Coming", some rare photos of Joe Raposo I am pretty sure very few fans of his have ever seen.

PS: Can any of you guess what Joe Raposo's original major was when he began attending Harvard? (Answer: Law.)

  • I don't know. History?

    This is beyond cool!

Also, I recently heard some song, it was from the soundtrack of a French movie....and my first thought is..."Joe Raposo?" because it seemed to have some of his trademarks....the bells, the "lighter than air" feeling (some of his songs have that).

And what is his middle name? What does the "G" stand for? "Giussepe" sounds Italian, but is it also Portuguese?

  • It wasn't history... try again :)

The G stood for Guilherme - Portuguese for William. So his middle name was Bill.

  • Wow, I remember this song! Was his major math, by any chance? Peace.

  • It wasn't math... good try though. Guess again :)

  • Joe was the best-looking guy in the bunch! :D

  • Beautiful tribute...

  • Does anybody know if any other singer beside Helen Reddy has recorded Joe Raposo's amazing song "Blue" ?

  • Just wanna ask if there's a Joe Raposo cd out there that features music from Sesame Street? Like 'weaverbird', 'starfish', 'scene with seahorse', 'go ahead & touch', 'E with the eagle and the easter egg' and others ? thanks!!!

  • It would have been a sadder place had he taken up law. And I couldn't imagine him there, his place was the studio, not the court room.

  • Joe sure was a talented guy in school. That was a beautiful tribute to him, Raposofan. :) And the music matched it perfectly.

  • I'm guessing politics or liberal studies?
