misirlou performed live by Bobby Fuller Four.1965-instrumental album. One of the greatest covers.Bobby died next year under strange circumstances. The original version of the song was recorded in 1927 by Tetos Dimitriades(Tέτος Δημητριαδης) in new york.songwriter-Michalis Patrinos's band, although Nick Roubanis was the 1st to claim it as his own in 1941.The most famous cover is by dick dale&the del tones recorded in 1962 and also used in Pulp Fiction's soundtrack in 1994.check out my favorites for the original version

  • I'm just stating that Dick Dale had very few equals, this includes Jimi Hendrix (another West Coast guitarist who played left handed) Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page or Jeff Beck etc. And unless Tetos Dimitriades played his original version on a Fender Stratocaster using reverberation and custom made Fender amplifiers in front of thousands of stomping surfers, well then it too pales in comparison.

  • @ernestaguirre I find this cover much more ''punk'' and experimental and that's why i like it better. But as i said it's a matter of personal taste and it's just my opinion.I also think that you can't compare a live to a studio recording for obvious reasons.

  • I love Bobby's music but this pales in comparison to Dick Dale's original version. Bobby was a good guitarist, but Dick Dale was and is a great guitarist.

  • @ernestaguirre Ι disagree but that's a matter of taste...Dale's version is a cover too,the original is by tetos dimitriades(1928),plus this is a live recording.

  • @pyrov44 Dick Dale deserves his credit, but Bobby was a self-taught guitarist, who became a professional in a matter of years. This is only a testimate to that, this is LIVE! This is on par with Dick, if not better. For those who don't know, Bobby and Jim Reese are both playing lead guitar, switching off parts.

  • @SlashManEXE i totally agree!

  • BOBBY WAS FANTASTIC, a GENUS!! Us original fans from El Paso will always love him.

He was murdered the day he was to meet and cancel his contract with Bob Kane-Delfi-

Bobby took old music and made it cutting edge, mod, NOW!!! He has NO equal in that.

    THANKS FOR THE MEMORY!!!

  • @Geepsterr Not going to disagree with you there. It's one thing for him to still be playing at his age, but the fact that he can still give such a powerful performance is impressive.

  • @SlashManEXE Me too. This is gets pretty creative with it and is easily as good as Dick Dales early record of this. However the more recent live version of Dick Dale doing it is better than ever.

  • I never knew that Bobby Fuller did Misirlou . WOW!

  • Egyik kedvencem, fantasztikusan gitározott...... :) :) :)

  • Dick is the master and the reverb unit he used on his recording is the most wet saturated! I love bobby but this one belongs forever to dick dale

  • Sorry folks, punk didn't exist in 1965. This is nothing but good old rock and roll!
